It is rather small and compact in size, which we very thankful for. The battery weighs under 25 pounds and measures 7.7 x 5 x 6.1 inches in dimensions, and it will clearly stop from hogging much of your boat space.
This battery, thanks to its perfect size, allows you to mount it in pretty much any position you like. Perfect for small vessels! And it furthermore includes a convenient handle, making it very easy to carry it to and from. Well, so far so good, but now let’s look into features more closely.
The VMAXTANKS Vmax857 battery is 12-volt AGM deep-cycle battery. It is therefore perfect for use on small boats where you may need to run a trolling motor. Some of the recommended trolling motor that you can pair it with includes the likes of Minn Kota, Cobra, Sevylor. You can, however, use it with pretty much any trolling motor that needs a 12V battery with a capacity of 35 Ah which falls into the U1 group.
Having said that, you can of course also power onboard accessories like your phones, fish finder, radars, portable fans, etc. Keep in mind, however, that this guy not up for large, heavy-duty and demanding jobs. Answer: Good question! We strongly recommend that you use only an AGM-compatible battery charger. Look in the VMAX BC1204 12V 3.3a amp battery charger if you can. It should deliver to the VMAXTANKS Vmax857 battery brilliantly. However, you can easily use the Minn Kota one too.
- Can I use this a cranking battery?
Answer: We rather have you not doing it. It is strictly a deep-cycle battery only; not a starting battery, not a dual-purpose. So, for the sake of your battery’s life span, don’t.
